Join us for a TALK + Q&A (sitting around the Dia de Muertos Ofrenda)

Following the opening of our community ofrenda, we continue a conversation death rarely gets in everyday life. This free talk and Q&A brings together lived experience, contemplative practice, and hard-won wisdom on what it means to live — and grieve — well.

TOPICS & THEMES:
• Exploring the Final Door
• Living with greater purpose in life after a death experience
• Grieving deeply and briefly; for yourself and for the dead
• Exposure to death as an invitation to deepen your relationships
• Absorb the darkness and you will find the light –revelations from Craig’s own experience of a Taoist Darkness Retreat and the Death hormone.
• Relinquishing the comfort of the illusion of immortality
• Creating a Death Box (aka Life Box)
• Death Cafes
• How young children celebrate death
• Q&A on Death Matters
“The readiness is all” – Shakespeare.
Talk will be presented by Craig Mathewson.

Craig has lived in the central Australian desert for over 20 years, working on indigenous communities and producing cross-cultural theatre and media projects.

He has spent several weeks in a Tao Darkness Retreat in Thailand with Master Mantak Chia. The retreat was in absolute darkness where a natural release of DMT occurs. He received profound insights into Death and Higher Purpose, and produced a play on the experience; A Play in the Dark.

This is a FREE EVENT and is part of the Día de Muertos Celebration Series at Campfire in the Heart.
