Last year Campfire in the Heart hosted a community development retreat, led by Peter Westoby and Rachael Donovan of Community Praxis Co-op and attended by practitioners from local and interstate organisations.

This year Peter and Rachael led a field trip in Nepal alongside a small group of Australian practitioners, for the purpose witnessing, learning and reflecting on the practice of Sahakarmi Samaj, a local NGO doing fantastic community development work inspired by the teachings of Paulo Freire and other great thinkers that have proven communities can brake free from dependency.

We are looking forward to seeing Peter and Rachael in Alice Springs again in July this year!
