Brooke Prentis is a Wakka Wakka woman and Aboriginal Christian Leader. She has national ministries including as a theologian and preacher, and as Coordinator of the Grasstree Gathering, a growing network of over 200 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders from across the church denominations and all church backgrounds. She is also the producer of the national prayer service Change the Heart.

Christians often use the word “ministry” to describe the work of the clergy, but in Aboriginal contexts, its meaning is more expansive. There are hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples right across these lands now called Australia engaged in ministry work, but much of it is unpaid, and might not fit into non-Indigenous ideas of what ministry looks like.
